When you sing this song, use cardigan instead of Saturday. C-A-R-D-I-G-A-N NIGHT!
“We have a piper down. I repeat we have a piper down.”
Sorry, I could quote this movie all day long.
Back to my point.
We are back to 100 degree weather this week in North Texas, but I will not let it deter my excitement for the coming of fall. This is a time of year when I dream of pumpkin spice lattes and cardigans. Oh my lovely cardigans.
Unfortunately I have let my vast collection dwindle down to nothing. I blame having babies, and letting my husband do my laundry. Anywhoo… I am eager to replenish my cardigan collection, and I have started perusing the internet to find the best deals. I have found that on average, the deals are much better on the computer than they are in the stores.
That lucky cardigan has to have a few qualities about it. Not just any ole cardigan will do. It needs color, pizzazz, maybe something ornamental. A cardigan is my staple of fall clothing. I wear them with my favorite Ramones t-shirt and yoga pants people.
Here are some that I have found recently.
I like the stripes, and that it has a zipper. I am always losing buttons on everything I own.
This one is bright and peacock blue. That is really all that needs to be said.
Stipes, stripes, and more lovely stripes. Plus, it looks like a little ole grandpa would wear it. I love little ole grandpas.
They must really stop with the stripes, I do not think I can take much more.
This one is just cool. It could be dressed up or down.
Oh are there so many more cardigans I could show you, but alas, I will not. You will have to look on your own.
“Look at the size of that boy’s head. It’s like an orange on a stick.”
I really wish you could here me say these quotes with my best Shrek accent.
Ok, back to the cardigan. I was looking for inspiration on Pinterest, and came upon something great. How to turn old sweaters into cardigans. Since I wear more cardigans than regular pull over sweaters, I thought I would give it a look. I found a great tutorial here.
Guess what, I have a few striped GAP sweaters circa early 2000s that are screaming for a redo! I am thinking I am going to use fabric and ribbon, and maybe even add a zipper. The possibilities are endless. I may need to visit the Gooodwill for some sweaters if I like how everything turns out.
Oooohh, this could be a great idea for a Christmas gift.
I leave you this fine Monday with a few things that are on my mind.
- How is it that one man and three girls can totally destroy a house in less than two days?
- I really need to get my three year old potty trained.
- When did I get a muffin top?
- Muffin top is a really horrible word.

Which reminds me… my sister has a really cute cardi I am going to steal… errr… borrow for our trip to Atlanta.
I seriously LOVE the crazy ass F21 sweater. You must have it.
I totally bought it! There prices are too good not to snag something!
Oh how I love me some cardigans. I am laughing at your comment about your house being destroyed. It is the same here when Mike and all the kids are here. Crazy!
It is absolutely ridiculous how messy this house is sometimes when I come home on Sunday. These girls are crazy messy.
