I love Chili.  I cannot tell a lie.

When I was little I would not eat it.  My mom would always make me some Campbell’s Vegetarian Vegetable when she cooked chili for the rest of the family.  Thank goodness I got over that!

My favorite thing about a dish like chili, is that everyone has their own recipe.  Ask anyone you know (that likes chili) and I bet they have their own twist on the dish.

Chili screams football, cold weather, and campfires.

You can find some good recipes here, here, and here.  I like the last one because you cook it in a crock pot.  Actually, you can cook any of them in a crock pot.  Just another reason to love chili.

You can serve your chili with cheese and Fritos for some yummy frito pie, or bake up some cornbread to mix with it.  I had a co-worker from Ohio who ate his chili with spaghetti noodles.

I recently ate some chili with white rice and it was delicious.  I highly recommend the rice.

Infact, this is is my new way to eat chili.  Please try it.  Please!

Chili is the kind of food you can eat in your sweats cuddled up on the couch with a blanket.

Personally, I thought I would wear something like this.

I can see me in the stands on a cold Saturday afternoon eating some chili, drinking a beer, I mean soda, cheering on my Red Raiders.  I think some of my greatest college memories were at football games.  Plus, in this outfit I would look totally fab!

Personally, I like to drink a nice Shiner with my chili.  I am sure there is a light beer that would taste good to.  Or anything else you would like to drink, if you do not drink alcohol.

The possibilities are endless.

Lets say the kids have gone to bed,  and you and your sweetheart are snuggling by the fire eating some leftover chili.  Maybe you feel the need to get up and do a little slow dancing right there in the living room.

If you do, may I recommend this song.

My parents dance in the kitchen.  They will be married for 46 years this December.  I think it just may be the key to an everlasting marriage!

Mmm, chili is so good! Too bad I just moved to California where it’s 94 degrees right now and not really chili weather. Maybe in a couple of months? ;)
PS. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! xo
