I stepped away from the computer, and my knitting, to make a fall wreath for my front door.
This is what I started with. The wreath above holds some sentimental value with me. It was one of the wreaths that were hanging on the front doors of the church I was married in. Have I ever mentioned how much I was in love with my wedding day. A day could not have been more perfect! At least to me.
Anywhoo, using this wreath saved me some dinero. I like that it is heart shape, because it reminds me how thankful I am for my lovin man.
There were a few wreaths on Pinterest that were wrapped in yarn that I liked, so I decided to go that route. The yarn and autumn ornaments were 70% off at Joanns. I probably spent a total of $5 on this entire project.
First, I wrapped each shade of yarn around the wreath. I did not use glue, and just wrapped the yarn around some loose twigs on the wreath. This way, I can change the wreath if I choose to make one for another season.
I did not want to cover the whole wreath with yarn. I really like the rustic look of the twigs, and to me, rustic equals Fall.
Once I wrapped both colors of yarn, I glued on the sunflower ornaments.
A quick project that anyone can do.
What kind of Fall decorations have you made?
