I Was Going To Be Productive, Then I Decided To Watch Hoosiers

077a

  • I will never not watch that movie.
  • It completes me.
  • I basically cry all the way through,
  • I feel the excitement.
  • Plus Gene Hackman and Dennis Hooper.
  • Do not even get me started.
  • When the kid tells coach at the state game “I’ll make it.”
  • Again tears.
  • Mr. Kell got a new truck today and he is excited about a CD player.  He pulled his giant box of CDs out of the closet last night and was reminiscing.
  • He was quite the headbanger back in the day, and I can guarantee he will be listening to Pantera on the way to work tomorrow.
  • Then he will listen to Shooter Jennings.
  • I love that about him.
  • He used to have the most wicked goatee.
  • Now he sports a sexy salt and pepper beard.
  • The closer we get to summer, the harder it is for me to get the girls to sleep.
  • My little bit is practicing packing her lunch box, and back pack for kindergarten.
  • I need to get my butt in gear and finishing schooling her in her letters and what not.
  • Mr. Kell will have to walk her to her class.
  • I am tearing up right now just thinking about her sitting at her table in a classroom.
  • Tears people.
  • Then I will go home and sit in silence, and plan the rest of my life.
  • Why have I never eaten gnocchi?
  • Potatoes people.
  • I was J.Lo when J.Lo wasn’t cool.
  • I am trying to find the perfect navy blue and it is seriously taking me a long time.
  • I have a date with some sand paper and an old cedar chest.

Bye

The Day Called For Tater Tots

024

  • The day also called for a Margarita.
  • I am tired of picking things up just to find them out and about again.
  • Blah, blah, blah, the whining of a stay at home mom.
  • I think I dropped everything I was doing today at least once.
  • At least the grocery store was empty.
  • Of course it was empty, it was 0845 in the morning.
  • I have to say it is my favorite time to go shopping.
  • Now if I could get Home Goods to open that early.
  • I love this song.
  • The Rangers are in Cali which means that the games do not start till 9pm.  Do they not know that I am tired by then.
  • Really tired.
  • Especially after drinking a margarita.
  • The day would have been a total bummer, but I saw this.
  • Between Thor, Iron Man , and the new Superman I will be in super hero heaven.
  • Mr. Kell assures our girls that he is the only man for me.
  • We will be married for 12 years this Sunday.
  • We have been together for 22 years.
  • I have to think of something good to get him.
  • I would really love to get a cool picture of our initials he painted on the bridge when we were in high school.
  • Unfortunately it is off of the highway in a not so safe area.
  • Anywhoo, I am hoping for a brighter day.
  • I am going to buy paint and sand paper.
  • I am going to drink a caramel macchiato.
  • I am going to clean floors and laundry.
  • I may even eat more tater tots.
  • It worked for Napoleon.

Random

Today is my birthday.  Mr. Kell woke me up with an early morning phone call to wish me a happy birthday.  It was also a get out of bed to take the girls to school call.  I really enjoy sleeping in.  One child rode the bus, and the other is sitting here eating crackers for breakfast.  They are getting the Mom Of The Year award ready for me as I type this.  Sorry ladies, it is all mine.

Now for some randomness.

  1. Random as many synonyms. A few are accidental, irregular, and unaimed.
  2. I will be wearing red pants and a blue shirt today to support my Texas Rangers!
  3. Come one o’clock my cute butt will be sitting on the couch eating a subway sandwich watching me some baseball.
  4. My MIL got me a Target gift card for my b-day, so yesterday I went to Target all by myself and bought some bras and panties.
  5. I never remember to splurge on things like that.
  6. Splurging on panties and bras at Target is my kind of fancy.
  7. I refuse to pay $30 for a bra when I was never blessed with any boobs.
  8. Plus, Victoria Secret is trying to market to young girls.  No young girl needs to wear fancy bras and panties.  Keep it conservative and cotton.  You will have plenty of time in your life to wear fancy lingerie.  If you are wearing it for a boy at 13, you need a talking to.
  9. I had my hair in braids pinned to the top of my head the other night, and Mr. Kell said all I needed was a white bonnet, and I looked Amish.  I said Amish mafia that is because I have sweet ninja skills, numchuck skills, and bow hunting skills.
  10. I watched Snow White and the Huntsman yesterday.  I love Thor.  I refer to the cute boys by their super hero name.  Anywhoo, Kristen Stewart does not know how to show any emotion besides constipated.
  11. I am finally planting my herb garden today.  The past few days have been super cold.  Seat warmers in April is uncalled for.
  12. May 10 is Kindergarten registration.  I am going to sign the little bit up, but I am not sure she is ready.  We will see.

I hope everyone has a happy day and a happy weekend.  The weather is supposed to be glorious here in North Texas.  I will be enjoying it from the windows of my patients.

Bye!

Tuesday

  • I sit here this morning wondering how many other woman my age listen to Ronnie Milsap while they knit?
  • What?  Is it only me?
  • Well, you do not know what you are missing.
  • My girls actually want books for Christmas.
  • There is a huge smile on my face.
  • Once they start talking like a valley girl when they get excited, or break out in dance in the grocery store, then I will know I have done a great job as a mother.
  • I am meeting my big sis for some shopping and lunch.
  • H&M here I come.
  • I hope they have a kids section.
  • All that is on my mind are wreaths, twinkle lights, and garland.
  • Oh the paper garland I want to make.
  • Problem, I do not know where my sewing machine is.
  • Closet or attic?
  • I have another dilemma.
  • Salsa red or black and white?
  • What about navy with a funky turquoise trim?
  • Maybe I should just buy a swatch of fabric first then decide on color.
  • It would be safer.
  • I really want a rug for my living room.
  • I wish Ikea made this one in an 8×10.  I really like the way it looks, it is just too small for the space.
  • So now it is in my dining room with no table.
  • Chalk pens or regular chalk?
  • My mind is in overdrive.
  • I have a crazy tight Christmas budget this year so I am trying to find the perfect homemade gift for everyone.
  • Homemade by me or someone else.
  • I am thinking there will be lots pics of my kids involved.
  • Maybe I can selfishly get an iPhone 5 for myself.
  • That would be very selfish.
  • Have you picked out some angels from your local tree?
  • I have three kids I will be shopping for.
  • I am very excited.
  • Well, gotta go.
  • I am running out of Ronnie Milsap songs, and my scarf is not done.
  • Plus, I really need to get dressed.
  • Christmas shopping starts today!
  • GO!

The End Of A Week

I love the funny things my little bit is saying these days.

For example..

Emily: “Mommy, want to know how I know when I have had too much truit juice?”

Me:  ”How”

Emily: “When I shake my bobo, you can here it losh in my tummy.”

Me:  ”You are so my child.”

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

One of my patients this week informed me that Florence Nightingale was a lady of the night.  You know, a hooker.  I could not stop laughing.  I went home that night and googled it, and found out that he was full of crap.  It got me thinking, boy could we be making so much more money.  Lol, just kidding.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

Working all the time now means my google reader was full of about a zillion blogs from the past couple of weeks.  I had to just mark all of them as read just so I could breathe.  It also means that there is less time on Pinterest.  I no longer have any ideas for crafts.  I have completely jumped back over to my left brain dominant self.   Kinda sucks, because I used to have so many ideas.

I think I will just bore everyone with my knowledge of the heart.

………………………………………………………………………………………………….

It really stinks when your doctor realizes you have not had a tetanus shot in almost 20 years.

………………………………………………………………………………………………….

An article that talks about the color gray and Ryan Gosling, is an article I need to read.

Jem is getting a makeover.  I am sad.

………………………………………………………………………………………………….

If I had the ingredients I would so be making this today.

Happy weekend kids.  I will be working and keeping warm.

Close Your Eyes

Ok, for a second I want you to close your eyes.  I am going to draw you a mental picture.  Image a woman wearing flower capri pajama pants, an old vintage Texas Tech tee, pink sparkly converse, and finally a gray cardigan with a hole int he sleeve.  Did I mention the cardigan has lime green and kelly green argyle?

Now open your eyes.  That is exactly what I wore when I brought my two older girls to school this morning.

  • I think I am going to make an apple pie today.
  • I also need to make cupcakes for my daughters b-day party at school.
  • She is very excited because her daddy is coming to the school.
  • I have to work.
  • Yeah me!
  • My running schedule is all messed up because I am working more.
  • So is my sleep schedule.
  • I ache every where.
  • Stress sucks.
  • I am pressing on.  It is was I do.  I am fierce!
  • I love stories about haunted houses.
  • I found this song watching old episodes of Wildfire.
  • It was a really good show!
  • I am going to Micheal’s, and Hobby Lobby today.  I need some yarn and the perfect Martha Stewart craft to make me smile.
  • Then it is off to the library to pay some fees, and head over to Walmart to get my little bit some princess sneakers.
  • I wonder if Mr. Kell would like to partake in our adventure?
  • Well, I guess I better go.
  • The kitchen is already clean, and now I must put clothes away.

Have a Happy Thursday!

It Was Cold When I Woke Up

It was cold again when I woke up.  The cold weather does not make me very productive, because all I want to do is snuggle even deeper under my corduroy comforter with Mr. Kell.

As much as I do not like being cold, it is the one thing that I love about Fall.  The change in weather brings about many things I love.  Things that make me warm.  I really like to be warm.

1.  There is nothing like a pair of boots to keep my feet warm.  I usually wear cowboy boots, but I have decided that I need to buy a new pair every Fall.  A little “atta boy” just for me.  You can find this pair here.

2.  I love coats.  I love the look a coat can give an outfit.  I like to wear an old  corduroy coat of my husbands that has wool on the inside.  It ha a large collar that I think makes me look cool and rugged.  This one is from The Gap.

3.  Is there really anything better than a Pumpkin Spice Latte?  Just the smell makes me feel warm and fuzzy.  I think I will have to get one tomorrow on my way to work.

4.  I like scarves, because I love to knit.  It is the one thing that I knit well.  I have found a few patterns, and I cannot wait to get my needles working.  You can find the pattern in the picture here.

5.  If I am sitting on the couch, I have a blanket over me.  I just love being wrapped in something warm.  A striped throw blanket from West Elm just makes the world a happier place.  Or at least it would make my couch a happier place.

6.  Finally, sitting around the fire pit with your girls drinking hot chocolate and eating popcorn definitely makes for lovely evening.  We plan on doing a lot of that this Fall.

Is it cold where you are?  What do you like about Fall?

Crap, I Have To Work Tomorrow

I work weekends, and when you have a weekend off, it feels like you have not worked in a month.  I really like that feeling, but the bills will not get paid with me sitting at home playing on the computer and reading a dirty book.

I am panicking right now.  It is going to be in the 40-50′s tomorrow morning, and  I have to be up at 5:30.  It is going to be so cold, and I really hate the cold.  If the cold weather stays around, I am going to have to find some warmer clothes to run in.  Or, find a treadmill.

The girls do warm my heart and make my day brighter, but this week they have driven me completely crazy.  Whining, complaining, not studying for a spelling test. It was all I could do not to run away and let Mr. Kell take care of everything.  Hopefully next week will be better.

  • Where has this article been all my adult life?
  • I need to get these for my girls.
  • We could all learn a little something from this.
  • I need step up my attire, and this would be perfect.
  • I need to get these so I can kick it like Lisbeth.

If you have some glitter, and acorns from you acorn tree, your kids can sit around after school and make something fun.

They sit on our kitchen table.  I love how they sparkle from the sunlight coming in through the window.

I have to run tonight.

I have to meet my daughters speech teacher today.

She is very pretty, and always looks nice.

I will be arriving in yoga pants, t-shirt, and a cardigan, with my hair up in a bun.

Cause that’s how I roll on Friday before the the weekend, because crap, I have to work tomorrow.

A Cup, Some Meatballs, Information, And I Should Have Taken Their Man Cards

I have so much to talk about.  It is like a big crock pot full of casserole.

1.  Yesterday was Necole and Marni’s craft corner.  We took a stab at decorating our own coffee mugs with sharpies.

That’s mine.  I decided to use lyrics from my favorite Beatles song.  Not the best, but I like it.  Next time I will by a smooth cup that does not change in shape.

2.  When I grow up, I want be a cute little Italian grandma.  Why you ask?  I love meatballs.

These look yummy!

3.  I found a few interesting things on the internet this week.

4.  Last, I must have missed the memo that said yesterday was daddy bring their daughter to gymnastics day.  There I was working on my grandma skills, knitting a scarf, surrounded by dads.

The best part was their topics of conversation..

First, they had a 20 minute conversation on the pros and cons of Facebook.  Apparently, one of the dads was a musician and was trying to figure out if Facebook or YouTube would be a better platform to be heard.  Then, the conversation got more weird.  They were talking about pregnancy, placentas, toxemia, and bed rest.  I have to say, I was impressed with their correct use of medical terminology.  I could not help but giggle when they started talking about natural family planning.  I totally think it works, I am just not used to hearing a man talk about birth control.  Especially with other men while watching their kids in gymnastics.  It was like listening to their wives talk, which is what I do when they bring their kids to gymnastics.  I should have asked for their man cards.

It was a nice week here at The House of Kells.  Tonight is family night at school.  Hot dogs and games.  The girls are very excited!

Have a great weekend.
