I am a Pear. That is my body shape, and I have been working it since I was a kid. I was always the skinny girl with the big, poofy, butt. My shape has not changed, but the size of me has. Child bearing and what it does to your body is FUN!
Last Friday I got together with some girls from high school and we had dinner. It was so much fun to see these girls. Two I see all the time, two I know that if we lived closer we would be really good friends.
I wanted to look super cute, and had a great outfit planned. Problem was I wanted to wear my super cool boots I got at Kohls. I did not want to wear them under my jeans like I always do. I wanted to wear them like all the cool girls do.
This meant that I would have to buy a pair of skinny jeans, or some jeggings (jean marries leggings, they have a babay, and this equals jeggings). Jeggings were out of the question at this time. I can only take so much abuse in the dressing room. I called my sister for her opinion. We ended up talking for over an hour about who knows what. She told me to go to Target because they have this great system to buy jeans.
I love Target for so many reasons, and this jean system is brilliant. The system is numbered 1-5 with each number correlating with a color. The numbers and colors are based on rise and cut. Are you a low rise or a mid rise? Straight, curvy, or relaxed? Boot cut or skinny?
I usually go with the boot cut because it balances out my hips, and makes my thighs look trim. There is always a little stretch in my jeans. I do not own jeans with gems, conchos, swirls, or any other details. I buy a dark trouser cut to dress up, and faded blues for every day. Jeans are my absolute fav!
I love the numbers and colors. It made it so easy to find the jeans. I am a 3 green, and I went with the skinny. Remember, I wanted to be like all the cool girls.
It is very scary going to the dressing room to try on skinny jeans. I hate disappointment. I miss the days of never having to try on clothes.
I was very surprised with the fit, and how comfortable they actually were. I had to go with a 10 instead of a 12 because the 12s were too big in the waist. They were a little bunchy at the knee, which is why I guess jeggings were created. They made my butt look really good, so I bought them.
Here is a little example of what my outfit looked like.
Now I need to buy some knee high boots. I love shopping for boots.
I really liked how simple it was to find a pair of jeans, instead of trying on 50 pairs.
Next time you are in Target, you should give it a try!
Target does not know me from Adam, and this is not an advertisement. I like most moms out there shop at Target on a daily basis.
