Barrettes And Wreaths

valentinecraftMy girls and I sat around the kitchen table the other day and made some fun barrettes and Valentine wreaths for the fireplace.  We sat around, talked about our day, and snacked.  You see, I also went to the grocery store that day so the pantry was full.  My daughter Abby was constantly saying “I am in heaven.”

I was learning the finer art of cooking from none other than Ina Garten (on the tele).

We jammed to One Direction, and I congratulated my girls on their awesome report cards.  One good thing that has come from our spontaneous move, is that my girls are absolutely thriving in school.  My oldest loves going to school now, which makes me so happy.  She was not doing well last year, and has done a complete 180.  Education is very important to me.

I was proud of our finished products.  The girls wore their barrettes today, and I hung the wreaths above the fireplace for a little bit of love in the living room.

We ended the night with some sight words and breakfast for dinner.  All and all a great family day!

Where Am I Going To Put All Those Valentines?

I love craft kits.  I love when everything is packaged and ready to use.  All the required tools are in one place, and you are not rummaging around the house for crayons, paper, glitter and glue.

Craft kits are another reason why I love Target.

The girls needed to decorate cereal boxes for their valentines at school, and Target had the best little kits to do the job.  Everything was in one container, and all we needed was a glue stick and a glue gun.  Mommy was very happy.

This was one of the packages.  The other one was full of sponge sticker with self adhesives.  Yes, I said self adhesive.  Combine that with some lovey scrap book paper, and paper heart doilies from The Dollar Tree, and you have a craft time with your daughters that will not crack the bank.

These sparkly, spikey balls and pipe cleaners were my favorite.  I think I will head back to Target today to see if they have any on clearance.  Extra stash for another craft day!

The perfect little box for my sweethearts school valentines.

Total cost for crafts and cereal boxes…….$15.00.

Not bad for crafts with three girls, with tons of extra left over for another day!

My Valentine’s Wreath

I love love, which is why I love Valentine’s day.  All that pink and red makes me happy, not to mention I love hearts.

Romance novels, romantic movies on television, I love it all.

Which is why I decided to make a Valentine’s wreath.  I wanted a little bit of Valentine’s in my house.  Just a sprinkle.

I started with the fall wreath I made back in November.  I just cut the old yarn off  to start fresh.

I picked out three love colors.  I love the yarn in the middle.  It is a mix of different shades of pink.

I just wrapped the yarn around the wreath, and secured it with a dab of hot glue.

I then added a bit of sparkle and a yarn pom pom and voila!

I just love it.

You can learn to make a yarn pom pom here.

This has given me the itch to make a few more crafts.  Thanks goodness I have a coupon to Joanne’s.
